I had noticed that there was no topic about him yet, and I thought I'd like to know how you feel about John. I love the Ox. John has really inspired me to play the bass better and harder than I was every playing before. He took the bass from being the least important insturment to it's rightful place as the most important. He was a great guy and very funny. Though he had no "moves" on stage, his finger's flew over that fret board. His songs were consistantly awesome.

His death was very sad and unnecessary .... a 'rock and roll' incident, according to P.Townshend. And his cardiologist had warned him that his lifestyle may prove fatal...
This may sound odd, but consider that person we are talking about. I think if John had died quietly and without controversy he wouldn't have been very happy. He did die too soon, but I think that he wasn't the kind of person to say "Ohh, I know I enjoy living like this, but if I don't stop, something bad may happen." I imagine him more like "Well, if something goes wrong, sod it. I don't care." He's put a lot ok work into it, and he deserves to leave how he wanted, and if this is how he wanted to go, so be it.
Do we understand that? I'm not being... confusing?
